Coor is always looking for innovations that make the working day safer and better on behalf of its customers and also for its own employees. Mattias Wahlgren, Group Innovation Manager at Coor, has to be one step ahead when keeping track of new solutions.

“Of course, there is a lot that affects how good we feel at work, but the basics are air, light and sound,” says Mattias.

At Coor’s bright and modern headquarters, new innovations are constantly being tested and Mattias is careful about evidence.

“The market is flooded with products that claim to offer clean air, even from viruses, but very few have convincing scientific evidence. I became really interested when I realized that the technology at LightAir had been part of a seven-year-long independent study led by the Karolinska Institute.”

Mattias and Coor decided to go with the LightAir Health+ offer. Initially, the office was pretty empty due to the global pandemic. Of those who have been on site, there are two employees who suffer from pollen allergies, one of them with severe coughing attacks. Both noticed an improvement quite immediately.

“We installed air purifiers and virus inhibitors as a test. Only one who worked on site got COVID and that person infected no one else in the office,” says Maria Sjödin, Coor’s site manager in Borlänge.

A big advantage is that both air purifiers and virus inhibitors are energy-efficient and quiet.

“We don’t hear them in the open plan office setting or in meeting rooms, not even when it’s empty. It’s a big advantage. The air purifiers draw very little power compared to other air purifiers we have tried, which is also good from a sustainability point of view. We don’t even have to turn them on and off, they are always working,” says Mattias.
