Sony’s workplace management solution TEOS Manage, 4K BRAVIA professional displays and state-of-the-art 4K projector power Siemens’ smart office of the future

Siemens, one of the largest manufacturing companies in Europe, has selected Sony’s advanced corporate AV solutions to create the smart workplace of the future at its Portuguese headquarters. A combination of Sony’s BRAVIA 4K displays, projectors and its complete workspace management solution TEOS Manage, now provide a seamless AV experience for all employees and visitors. With the number of connected devices on the rise, Sony’s TEOS Manage software allows Siemens to effectively coordinate signage on its projectors, professional displays and audio-visual devices from one central hub. Following a successful proof of concept, Siemens was so impressed with TEOS Manage’s capabilities and overall flexibility that the company chose to roll the solution out office-wide to streamline the management of its many connected devices and content.

All signage in the building is now displayed across Sony’s state-of-the-art BRAVIA 4K Professional Displays that have been designed with the needs of modern, connected businesses in mind and create stunning, attention-grabbing imagery. Siemens’ Portuguese headquarters also boasts Sony’s high-end VPL-GTZ1 ultra-short throw laser light source projector in its lobby to welcome visitors and employees with stunning 4K visuals, whilst tablets are used to facilitate room bookings, support meeting space management and enable digital signage applications.
Siemens is utilising the TEOS Player with the Sony VPL-GTZ1 ultra short throw laser projector, which was already in use, to be able to playout digital signage in the reception area. Once connected to TEOS Player, devices can use the full suite of TEOS solutions including the ability to show digital signage with TEOS Manage. This versatility enables Siemens to fully connect its workspace and allow digital signage to be shown from projectors and any non-compatible display devices.By providing a centralised AV management solution, Sony is aiming to make device control and content management more flexible, efficient and streamlined at Siemens.Commenting on the partnership, Carlos Cagica, IT and Innovation Manager at Siemens Portugal, said: “Before we started using Sony’s TEOS Manage, we had no centralised control over our workplace equipment and were losing valuable time due to device issues. Without proper signage, it also took far too long for people to find the rooms they were supposed to be in, resulting in additional delays. Thanks to Sony’s impressive AV solutions, these are all things of the past. With a seamless way to manage our devices, we can focus on what really matters: driving real value for our people, partners and customers.”
“Outdated AV solutions and processes meant that employees at Siemens spent too much time setting up technology or trying to find the right meeting room to be in. It is a challenge most larger organisations are familiar with,” explained Thomas Issa, solution manager at Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “Through a comprehensive package of integrated AV solutions, including our state-of-the-art 4K displays and business projectors, as well as our flagship workplace management solution TEOS Manage, we were able to create significant efficiencies for Siemens and change their workplace for the better.”Siemens can now efficiently manage, schedule and monitor the content that’s displayed on all networked screens, projectors and display devices through TEOS Manage. This includes grouping devices by location for easier management, scheduling content playout, and even creating and distributing custom digital signage in minutes.Along with TEOS Manage, TEOS Player and 4K BRAVIA professional displays, Siemens made use of Sony’s service packages to future-proof their solution, including PrimeSupport 2-year extension warranties for their BRAVIA displays and PrimeSupport 4-year extensions for every TEOS device license. “We trust in Sony to deliver on quality, which is why we have selected their AV solutions to underpin our HQ. TEOS Manage is making a big difference in how we engage with staff and visitors. It’s veryeasy to use and although it offers everything we could possibly need for now, I expect it will grow with us,” concluded Cagica.
